The company is trying to exert force on Discord to give up the name of the user. Nintendo says that it is on a warpath and is now actively hunting down the leaker responsible for last year's massive Pokemon data breach. The game company has asked a US court in the state of California to exert pressure on Discord, the popular instant messaging and VoIP platform, and have it divulge the name of the individual, who went by the handle "GameFreakOUT". Specifically, Nintendo wants Discord to give GameFreakOUT's name, address, phone number, and email address. It said in a subpoena that the person uploaded "confidential materials not released to the public" through a Discord server.
