With Generative AI driving innovation and transforming industries, it’s crucial for SMEs to stay ahead of the curve. Kevin Shepherdson, CEO of Straits Interactive, highlighted the importance of domain knowledge over technical coding skills in designing effective AI prompts. “Understanding the nuances and intricacies of a specific field is crucial and can drive innovative AI solutions, even for those who may not possess deep tech skills or background knowledge in technology,” he said. This challenge provides an excellent platform for professionals to leverage their unique insights and contribute to the development of groundbreaking AI tools, regardless of their technical background.
All eligible participants will receive a complimentary one-month access for the Capabara Creator Pack for five users, to help continue their AI journey within their organisations. Winners will receive a year’s subscription to Capabara to leverage Gen AI safely, securely and sustainably in their companies.
For SMEs, the National AI Prompt Design Challenge is more than just a competition; it is a strategic opportunity to equip your organisation with in-house AI development capabilities. By participating, SMEs can gain valuable skills in prompt engineering—a critical skill set for tomorrow’s workforce.
Ang Yuit, President of ASME and co-organiser of the Challenge, emphasizes the importance of this initiative for SMEs. “Through this challenge, we aim to raise the profile of skills needed for tomorrow’s workers, and among SMEs. We hope to inspire creativity and innovation among business professionals, as they form solutions to solve real-world business problems, and also to highlight the importance of using generative AI safely and securely for the workforce of the future,” he said.
The challenge aligns with Singapore’s National AI Strategy 2.0 and is co-organised by the Association for Small and Medium Enterprises (ASME). It is supported by key partners such as AI Verify Foundation, Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA), Singapore Management University Academy (SMU Academy), and Cyber Security Agency of Singapore (CSA) and various trade associations. Sponsors include MyRepublic (tech sponsor), Rackspace, and Elevation Events.
The National AI Prompt Design Challenge is open to SMEs, business entities, trade associations and chambers, and providers of professional services. The challenge is also extended to legal and compliance professionals, as well as those in learning and development.
